Greetings!
I am honored and pleased to represent the students of the Western Region as WRAMTAS president for the 2008-09 year. I have
attended Chapman University for the past two years, serving as both vice president and president of the Music Therapy Student
Association. I will be transferring to California State University Northridge in the Fall of 2008.
The previous year has proven successful under the direction of the 2007-08 executive board. I would like to take this opportunity
to recognize and thank Bill Dluhosh, Angie Kopshy, Carrie Pemberton, Allison Swain, and Wendy Stapley for all their hard work.
This year I hope to build on the success that they have accomplished, and create new opportunities for the students of the
Western Region.
A great achievement was attained in holding the Western Region’s first annual Passages conference for students, interns
and new professionals at the 2008 Seattle Western Region Conference. All feedback from this event will be taken into account
as we plan for the coming Passages in Stockton, CA.
My main goal for the upcoming year is connecting students with one another. I strongly believe in the importance of community,
and I would like this to be reflected in all areas of this association. The board is planning on continuing the successful
songbook fundraiser as well as establishing a contest welcoming student submissions for a Western Region logo, creating and
promoting a Facebook group and updating the website, among other things.
Keep a look out for updates, and I hope to see you at the 50th annual regional conference in April, 2009! Feel free to contact
any board member with questions, comments and concerns, and good luck with your studies in the coming year!
Casey Gregg
